SUPREME WINNER and GOLD RESERVE
Master Builders House of the Year Wellington-Wairarapa 2013 New Homes Category.
The team at Planit have collected an impressive haul of awards at this year's Regional Master Builders House of the Year Awards night. The Parsonson Architects job at Francis Bell Grove was the standout, receiving a Gold Award, $1-2million New Homes Category win, Craftsmanship Award, Local Supreme Award and a National Gold Reserve Award. These awards are a true testament to Planit's impeccably on going high standards of building, recognising our team as the best craftsmen in the Wellington/Wairarapa region and amongst the top 100 across the country. (With the national results still to come) But don't just take it from us, here is what the judges had to say:
"Built on one of the steepest sites we have ever seen, the quality of finishing and execution of workmanship in association with the difficult site was extraordinary.
Working with a minimalist design, there was absolutely no room for tolerances. The combination of materials inside and seamless detailing of exterior finishes alongside an impressive kitchen and staircase and a very clever exterior sunscreen, this home is just amazing.
This was an incredibly difficult site to build on, and the builder should be given full credit for what he has managed to achieve."

Two more Gold Reserve Awards
Auckland Tce - New Homes $1-2 million
Joining Francis Bell in being recognised as one of the country's top 100 homes is this Auckland Tce home. Situated high on the hills of Melrose this stunning, John Mills designed, home was completed by Planit last year. This project required the demolition of an existing house, which was carefully dismantled with many of the components being used on other projects. From the very steep site, then emerged the cedar and coloured ply clad "Tui House". Inside is an open planned upper floor with its feature compound curving stained ply ceiling and copper rimmed skylight, and John Calvert bespoke designed kitchen. The lower floor contained the bedrooms and media room.

Wellington Home - Renovations over $500,000
Continuing Planit's previous successes in the Master Builders House of the Year Renovation Awards the team has again received National Gold Reserve status, this time in the over $500,000 category. With the client wishing to keep the character of the home and achieve a rustic look and feel we were pleased that the judges recognised the difficulty in achieving a seamless renovation.
We now have a nervous wait for the National Awards Dinner in Auckland in November to see how our three entries go.
Our latest project is now available for all to experience in the form of the Orchard Street Boutique. To view this property or make a booking click here.
